LHASA: The capital of Tibet, at an altitude of 3650m, is situated on the north of bank of Kyichu River, a tributary of the Yarlung Tsangpo river. Lhasa in Tibetan means " Place of the Gods" and Potala Palace, the Residence of Dalai Lama ( The God King), is the earthly representation of the celestial Palace of Avaloketeswora, The Buddha of infinite compassion whose incarnation in the human form is believed to be the Dalai Lama. It is a city truly blessed by the gods where life is unburried.

Ganden Monastery, 60km east of Lhasa, was first built in 1409, the 7 year during the reign of Emperor Yong Le of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). At least 10 buildings have been restored. Barley fields sprawl across the valley flor, which looks splendid doted with small villages. It takes 4 days to walk from the Ganden to Samye This is one of the finest soft trek in central Tibet.

Dat to Day Itinerary in Detail
Day 01. Fly To Gongar.Transfer to Lhasa,Check in to Hotel.
Day 02. AM: Guided tour of Potala,the Winter Palace of Dalai Lama. PM: Guided tour of Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Market.
Day 03. AM: Guided tour of Drepung, biggest Monastic University of Tibet. PM: Guided tour of Norbulinka, the Summer Palace & Sera Gompa.
Day 04. Drive to Gyama, enroute visit Ganden Monastery Over Night Camp.
Day 05. Arrange the Yaks and trek to Thocha Over Night Camp.
Day 06. Trek over the Tsepla Pass. Over Night Camp.
Day 07. Trek to Yarmalung, the (Retreat Centre) Over Night Camp.
Day 08. Trek to Samye and Visit the Monastery Over Night at Guest House.
Day 09. Drive to Tsedang via Mindroling Monastery Over Night at Tsedang.
Day 10. Explore the Yarlung Valley,Yumbulakhang the first Castle built for Tibetan King and Trandruk Temple.
Day 11. After Breakfast transfer to Airport to connect flight to Chengdu/Kathmandu

Great Trip with Champawati Tours & Travel,

I had the pleasure of Champawati Tours & Travel in January 2006 to Trek to The Annapurna Base Camp which took around two week this included white water rafting on our way to Pokhara which was fantastic. We had 1 night in Pokhara before our trekking began and Champawati Travel made sure we were prepared and ready for the following day.
